the improvements realized through electrolyte purification, the cell performance remains poor: total accessed capacity, even during the first cycle, is limited (~60%) and discharge capacity decay rate is rapid (e.g., ≈ 50% in approximately 100 cycles), indicating high rates of irreversible capacity loss persist (as the discharge capacity was not recoverable via electrolyte rebalancing). Concerted research efforts are needed to understand and control the fundamental processes that govern the performance and longevity of Fe-Cr RFBs. 106
