The fiber area was calculated by assuming each fiber was a perfect cylinder, with the mean diameters given in Table 6.1. The mean capacitance and related uncertainties for each fiber type was then calculated, with clear differences between the different fibers and a noticeable increase after thermal treatment, (Figure 6.1).
