Figure 2 shows a photograph of a 1 kW/1 kWh vanadium RFB test bed used at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) [7]. An enlarged view is provided of the 1 kW cell stack, consisting of 15 cells strung together between the thick steel plates.
