(2016) Stirring for 15 min followed by sonication for 1 h TPS DSC, SEM Monitoring melting/freezing performance using thermocouples. N/A 2.3 Literature Summary The first part of the literature review focused on the latent heat thermal energy storage with PCM, particularly involving a helical coil heat exchanger configuration. Some of the major outcomes from the literature review can be summarized as follows: • HTF inlet temperature has a greater effect on the charging/discharging times than the HTF volume flow rate. • Although the increase in the HTF volume flow rate decreases the charging time, it does not have any influence on the discharging time. • Natural convection dominates the charging process with an increasing melted portion, while conduction is the main mode of heat transfer during discharging. 30
