cost, the use of natural gas as a primary fuel for power generation and in the automobile industry has sharply risen in the last decade. Figure 1.1 shows that the contribution of natural gas as an energy source in the USA has increased by 30% since 2005 (EIA, 2015). Such a trend is also observed globally, which can be seen in Figure 1.2, which shows that natural gas consumption reached 3.14 trillion m3 per year at the start of this decade. Figure 1.1.
