It is shown in Fig. 4.6 that the liberated gold particles ranges from approximately 50 to 75 μm. Moreover, silver, as shown in Fig. 4.7, either occurs alone or is associated with tin, lead and nickel. Fig. 4.8 and Fig. 4.9 indicate that palladium appears as thin bands, in and on titanium oxides containing barium and neodymium. An elemental imaging study was performed using QEMSCAN for a particle of the shredded printed circuit board within the size range of 2830 to 4760 μm.
