Consequently it would be possible to conduct this procedure using less sophisticated equipment, operating with Direct Current (DC) as opposed to Alternating Current (AC) as performed here. DC measurements of carbon fibres yield resistance, where the magnitude of the resistance is identical to the magnitude of the impedance since the phase angle is 0. The approach presented was necessary to demonstrate the applicability, reliability and validity of the method.
