Examples of financial institutions that offer guarantees include the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, which provides coverage for breach of contract. We believe that this model could be successful because of two main reasons. First, the private partners have demonstrated commitment and have the expertise necessary to ensure that the project is successful. Tetra Tech and Alta Rock have the technical knowledge needed to carry out production well drilling and to design, build, and operate a geothermal power plant.
