The mixing process can be accelerated by utilizing dedicated subsidiary structures, e.g. chevron nozzles or forced mixers. Again, the mixing is completed, when the jet has mixed with the atmosphere (4). The advantage in noise emission for this configuration is achieved by elongating the bypass duct, which means a heavier and more expensive engine, which in turn raises the SFC [4, 33].
