(In contrast, old-school single-speed or two-speed heat pumps have limited modes of operation: on or off.) • Use an inverter-driven compressor, an electromagnetic piston to drive the expansion valve, and an ECM fan motor. • Continuously modulate heating or cooling delivery in reaction to the indoor and outdoor conditions. • Boast an energy-efficiency advantage of 60% or more, compared to single- or two-speed heat pumps. The VCHP compliance credit is ready for use and incorporated into the current versions of CBECC-RES and Energy Pro software.
