New Build Pre-line Guide 1. Reclaim heat pump and outdoor cylinder Plumbing - Decide compressor, controller and cylinder location outside home - Hot and cold water domestic pipework terminations to cylinder location - Standard concrete pad, strapping and drainage details for outdoor cylinder Electrical - Compressor & controller will be mounted outside, out of direct sun - 10A 230V power supply for Reclaim compressor and controller in proximity to heat pump location, with outdoor rated isolator for wiring to compressor - Controller & compressor can share power supply & isolator or provide isolator for compressor & outdoor rated plug socket for controller - If cylinder has an element it is not required for Reclaim operation and should never be left on with Reclaim working. The element can be optionally wired as per cylinder manufacturer’s details as a back-up if desired. This should be done with a rotary three-way switch so EITHER the compressor OR the cylinder element are running, never both at same time. 2. Reclaim heat pump and indoor cylinder Plumbing - Decide compressor and controller location outside home, and cylinder location inside home - Flow and return water insulated pipework is required between compressor and cylinder – see table on previous page for recommended pipe sizes - Maximum water temperature in the pipe will be 63°C, at a flow rate of 5L/minute - Pipework must be insulated – Zones 1 & 2 = 19mm, Zone 3 = 25mm wall thickness - Penetrations for pipework to be appropriately weather sealed as per cladding manufacturers requirements - All cylinder pipework, drainage, strapping and other requirements to be as per cylinder manufacturers requirements Electrical - Compressor & controller will be outside in same location - Run 2 x 0.75 cable from controller location outdoors to bottom quarter of cylinder for temperature sensor - Compressor & controller will be mounted outside, out of direct sun - 10A 230V power supply for Reclaim compressor and controller in proximity to heat pump location, with outdoor rated isolator for wiring to compressor - Controller & compressor can share power supply & isolator or provide isolator for compressor & outdoor rated plug socket for controller - If cylinder has an element, it is not required for Reclaim operation and should never be left on with Reclaim working. The element should be wired as per cylinder manufacturer’s details as a back-up if desired. This should be done with a rotary three-way switch so EITHER the compressor OR the cylinder element is running, never both at same time
