1. Choose heat pump location Location Guide 2. a. Heat pump compressor and controller are always outdoors; ground or wall mounted. Roof mounting is possible but requires some considerations, check with Reclaim for more info b. The compressor is very quiet (37db at 1m) and therefore can be located close to bedroom windows with minimal disturbance to occupants. In addition, the heat pump can be set to only run during daytime c. Check clearances to obstructions as diagram below d. For wall mounting specify RE WALL kit, for roof mounting specify RE ROOF KIT Compressor clearances: A:350mm or greater if the height of the obstruction is less than 1,200mm 600mm or greater if the height of the obstruction is 1,200mm and higher B:Minimum 150mm C:Minimum 150mm Choose hot water cylinder location a. Cylinder can be located either outdoors or indoors b. Check locations against allowable distance between compressor & cylinder Maximum total pipe length 10m 12.7mm copper or 20mm plastic 20m 15mm copper or 20mm plastic Recommended for outdoor cylinder Recommended for indoor cylinder ✓ ✓ ✓ 3. Note: Pipework between compressor & cylinder should be minimised to optimise performance. No fittings that restrict flow should be fitted in pipework. Elbows should be minimised and all bends radiused c. All pipework must be insulated - 19mm wall thickness Zone 1 & 2, 25mm in Zone 3 Choose hot water cylinder Reclaim CO2 heat pumps can be fitted to any 300L stainless steel hot water cylinder. This ensures there is enough volume of stored hot water to meet demand while optimising Reclaim performance and savings to household. For best performance & easiest installation use Reclaim 300L outdoor/indoor cylinder. Lowest heat loss (2.03kWh/24hr), optimum sensor position & pipe connections, made in NZ, duplex stainless steel, powder coated zincalum outdoor case, optional 3kW element, specifically ported for Reclaim CO2 heat pump, 610mm x 1790mm (7300 REHWC300). This cylinder must be used if a FlowSmart hot water return system is also being installed. OR for an alternative indoor cylinder we recommend a Rinnai 300L stainless steel cylinder (MS30055030) OR for an alternative outdoor cylinder is a Rheem 300L stainless steel cylinder (MPSS 32530005-0A) Installation to any other cylinder is not recommended as standard. If required for unusual circumstances please contact Reclaim for further guidance.
