The maximum power point at 2300rpm presents the highest enthalpy flow; therefore, this engine operating point is selected for the design of the WHR system. Then, a throttle valve is installed in the exhaust pipe at an appropriate distance downstream of the turbocharger to avoid affecting its operation. The throttle experimentally simulates the effect of exhaust backpressure on fuel consumption for the selected ORC engine operating point. The tests are conducted using two pressure sensors upstream and downstream of the throttle valve.
