Figure 4.20 showed the effect of gradual water adsorption on adsorption time. Compatibility of the adsorbent and the HTF fluid is an important factor in designing large-scale gas separation processes. Zeolites, such as the one used in the present work, are excellent CO2 adsorbents; however, they show even greater affinities for water. Hence, ensuring completely dry incoming gas streams is a significant challenge.
