The prototype consisted of a 9.15 kWh direct 287 contact system which used 74 kg of PCM (erythritol) and Thermia oil C as HTF. The behaviour 288 of the M-TES prototype at different HTF flow rates (from 5 to 21 l/min) and at different time 289 lengths (from 15 to 210 min) was analysed. Later on, three other studies experimentally 290 analysed different improvements on this configuration. First, Guo et al. [79] investigated the 291 mechanism of melting process to improve the charging performance. Results showed the 292 influence of increasing the HTF flow rate in shortening the charging process time, with 293 reduction of time up to 29 %. On another study, Wang et al. [78] compared the direct and 294 indirect contact container configurations. The charging times are 240 min and 600 min for the 295 direct-contact container system and indirect-contact container system respectively. Finally, Guo 296 et al.
