Propane and butane showed higher compressor work be- cause they show a relatively higher volume, thereby requiring more input work for the compressor than the remaining working fluids at the stated thermodynamic conditions. Before further scrutinizing the refrigeration cycle working fluid, along with a lower pres- sure ratio across the compressor or lower compressor work, the coefficient of performance has also been evaluated for each set of temperatures and working fluids. Figure 5 presents the computed coefficient of performance (COP). It is interesting to know that propane's coefficient was higher than R227ea, although it had a higher compressor work value. However, COP for R123 and R245fa was relatively higher even at higher condenser tem- perature values with corresponding less power requirement for compressor work. Figure 4.
