The high-side pressure is 9 MPa, and the other boundary conditions are as in Figure 3.4. 3.2.3 Gas Cooler Configurations The main operating modes of an integrated CO2 heat pump system are: ♦ Simultaneous space heating and hot water heating (combined mode) ♦ Hot water heating only (DHW mode) ♦ Space heating only (SH mode) The CO2 outlet temperature after rejection of useful heat in the gas cooler should be as low as possible in order to achieve a high COP for the system. The CO2 outlet temperature is mainly determined by: ♦ The characteristics of the fluids to be heated (heat sinks): o the inlet temperatures (or temperature set-points) o the CP-values (ref. Appendix A2.4) ♦ The design and configuration of the gas coolers ♦ The compressor discharge temperature: o the suction pressure and temperature o the high-side pressure o the isentropic efficiency and heat loss for the compressor 34 Volumetric Heating Cap.
