Infinity Turbine: Tesla One Way Valve Valvular Conduit (reverse 4) CFD Computational Fluid Dynamics

Originally designed by Nikola Tesla, the one way valve (or valvular conduit) and was patented in 1916 under US patent US1329559A. From the patent: The high elliciency of the device, irrespective of the character of the pulses, is due to two causes: first, rapid reversal of direction of flow and second great relative. velocity of the colliding fluid columns. As will be readily seen each bucket causes a deviation through an angle of 180, and another change of 180 occurs in each of the spaces between two adjacent buckets. That is to say, from the time the fluid enters or leaves one of the recesses to its passage into, or exit from, the one following a complete cycle, or deflection through 360, is effected. Observe now that the velocity is but slightly reduced in the reversal so that the incoming and deflected fluid columns meet with a relative speed, twice that of the flow, and the energy of their impact is four times greater than with a deflection of only 90, as might be obtained with pockets such as have been employed in asymmetrical conduits for various purposes. The fact is, however, that in these such deflection is not secured, the pockets remaining filled with comparatively quiescent fluid and the latter following a winding path of least resistance between the obstacles interposed. In such conduits the action cannot be characterized as valvular because some of the fluid can pass almost unimpeded in a direction opposite to the normal flow. In my construction, as above indicated, the resistance in the reverse may be 200 times that in the normal direction. Owing to this a comparatively very small number of buckets or elements is required for checking the fluid. To give a concrete idea, suppose that the leak from the first element is represented by the fraction then after the-nth bucket is traversed, only a quantity will escape and it is evident that X need not be a large number to secure a nearly perfect valvular action.

Waste Heat Power: For years we’ve been hearing requests from customers who would like to use their waste heat to generate power, both on land and marine applications. To meet that demand, we formed Infinity Turbine LLC in 2008 and developed the IT10, the worlds first production 10 kw ORC (Organic Rankine Cycle) waste heat to power generator. New developments in CO2 Brayton Cycle may allow efficiencies to reach 30-50 percent. This is a huge increase from the legacy ORC process which has a system efficiency (bottoming cycle) of 5-15 percent). We now offer a CO2 Turbine Development Platform for educators and energy developers.

INFINITY TURBINE: FLIR Imaging

Infinity Turbine experimenting with FLIR to measure temperatures, electrostatics, and any friction points for rotating systems.

Pro Tips:
FLIR is one of many sleuthing tools to help diagnose and view (in real time) system operation.

Infinity Turbine was started in 2008. Infinity has experimented with just about every type of pressure expander, focussing on those below 500 kW in output size, and more on the smaller end of the spectrum (less cost to experiment and develop).

What We’ve Learned: If your expander has more than one moving part, it will break. This is a lesson learned, and capitalized on by Capstone Turbine. Beyond that, even having one moving part, will break. That is why we have ultimately focussed on tribo-effect, and a solid-state turbine using phase change Rankine technology. Another technology (with low efficiency) is the TEC Thermo Electric Coolers or Thermoelectric Device, or Peltier effect, which can produce electricity from heat.

Infinity Turbine: Ground Power Unit GPU Lithium Remote Power Generator - Stand Alone Power

Infinity Turbine: Ground Power Unit GPU Lithium Remote Power Generator - Stand Alone Power

Infinity Turbine is developing a home based GPU (ground power unit) that is based on lithium batteries. This cart mounted system is easy to move around to the jobsite, home, mobile, or marine. Hook up your PV panels, wind generator, backup generator, or grid power to charge.

Hand Cart Mobile GPU: This stand-alone power solution allows you to provide off-grid power for your home, cabin, boat, or remote work site. Because the unit is mounted on a hand cart, you can easily move it from your home to your garage, or to your weekend getaway. We will soon offer a Aviation version, for a GPU for your aircraft, but can also run essential items in your hangar.

Commercial Cart Mobile and Stationary GPU: This is the larger version of the GPU above. It features a scaleable battery solution on a modular 24 x 48 inch footprint industrial caster-beam cart with heavy-duty industrial casters. This system fits through any standard door, hallway, and elevator.

Features:

A. Multiple Charging Sources: Intelligent MPPT solar panel charging, and AC-based charging (via AC generator, AC inverted solar panel, AC wind energy, grid power, shore power).

B. Pure Sine Wave: The inverter produces pure sign wave AC power.

C. Multiple Power Output: Standard 110V 60 hz. Optional 220-240V AC. Optional 50hz.

D. SmartPhone Monitoring: Visual battery monitoring on the cart, computer and SmartPhone monitoring via app.

E. Scaleable: The Commercial Cart allows you to add batteries for additional capacity.

We feature and use Battle Born Lithium batteries. These quality batteries are made in the USA and are feature on a variety of terrestrial and marine applications.

Pro Tips:
Ground Power Unit for portable power solutions.

The base hand-cart unit will have two 12V 100Ah Battle Born lithium batteries (1,200 watt hours). The commercial caster-beam cart unit will have six lithium batteries (6,000 watt hours). Either version will power a 12VDC/120VAC Dometic cooler, InstaPot Pressure Cooker, Induction cooktop, or other AC appliances.
